Do you have a bike that hasn't seen the light of day in years?  In support of our Vijana Centre Bicycle Training Program, Global Alliance for Africa encourages individuals and volunteers both to host and contribute to bicycle drives throughout the Chicago metropolitan area.  Working Bikes Cooperative, our bicycle partner in Chicago, is constantly collecting used and new bikes to support bicycle programs around the world.  Your forgotten set of wheels can make an enormous difference to someone living in East Africa.

In Africa, bikes are used as a primary method of getting people to school, work, the hospital and to central and local markets.  Since most people cannot afford to purchase their own car, bicycles provide a form of transportation that is inexpensive and efficient.  So contact us if you want to participate in our next bike drive or if you want to create one of your own to benefit our bike program in East Africa.
