Our Mission
Global Alliance for Africa partners with local African NGOs, religious institutions, and community-based organizations to design and implement innovative economic strengthening programs with the goal of enabling communities and households to provide sustainable care and support for orphans and other vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS.

Hospitality & Tourism Training Institute

Global Alliance for Africa is presently planning the construction of a new Hospitality & Tourism Training Institute for orphans and vulnerable youth in Tanzania.  This is a unique, one-of-a-kind, cutting edge program.  The institute will provide training in hotel management, cooking, and tourism services in order to meet the projected 42% increase in tourism and hospitality services needed in Tanzania over the next five years as identified by market surveys conducted by the hospitality and travel industry in East Africa. Hospitality and Tourism courses will be offered at the new training institute to orphans and vulnerable youth in the greater Arusha area, as well as those qualified applicants from more remote areas of Tanzania and other countries.  It is anticipated that approximately 90 students will graduate from the institute every two years, with full certification from the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) of the Tanzanian government.   Plans are in place for the institute to be financially self-sustaining at the end of three years.  The proposed location of the Hospitality & Tourism Training Institute is in Arusha, near one of the major roads.  Most importantly, the facility will be in close proximity to the burgeoning tourist industry situated in Arusha, which is the arrival and departure point for people visiting major tourist sites in Tanzania, including Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Olduvai Gorge, Mount Kilimanjaro and many others.

  • This is a unique opportunity to partner on and fund an initiative that will provide formal sector jobs for thousands of orphans and vulnerable youth in the future. Please contact Tom Derdak, GAA's Executive Director if you are interested in involvement with our Hospitality and Training Institute.
