Abdelkrim Al-Khatabi School Award

Congratulations to the students of Abdelkrim Al-Khatabi School in Azrou, Morocco for recently ranking second in the MediaScol national competition for best school newspaper. The school is the site for one of Global Alliance for Africa’s digital learning programs.  The competition was organized by the Ministry of National Education, Primary Education and Sports in partnership with the French Institute in Morocco.

Under the leadership of Mr. Hicham Laayati, the students excelled at innovation and creativity in the field of digital media. Their success was fostered by a close relationship with the school administration, led by Principal Mr. Jamal Agdim. Mr. Agdim has a particular interest in integrating information and communication technology (ICT) into the school’s curriculum.

The school’s team was honored at a ceremony attended by Mr. Zuhair Hajji, head of Morocco’s Department of Pedagogical and Digital Resources, and representatives of the French Institute.

Global Alliance for Africa has been involved with Abdelkrim Al-Khatabi School since 2022. We fund essential computer equipment for students and provide workshops designed to help teachers upgrade their computer and pedagogical skills. Through a memorandum of understanding with Al-Alakawan University in Ifrane, Morocco, college students can receive credit for tutoring, supervising digital learning clubs, and collecting data substantiating the program’s effectiveness.

GAA is proud to be part of the students’ success!
